The Nokia battery should be able to power a laser for some length of time...there is no problem, but a projector runs on xenon lightbulb and I think direct 'arc'ing of a xenon bulb by the Nokia battery, the tech is not there yet. and wifi BT to a projector is a 'plausible' idea, however, the tech is still under developing...., a wifi projector, today, can only handle slide show, there is NO wifi projector, today, able to handle the fps of a decent video streaming.

A rather big issue, that one. Smaller, lighter, bigger performance for your gadetry: it's possible and allready done as we speak. But batteries with bigger capacity have been an unresolved problem for years now.
I see that problem too. If you put more and more stuff in your phone or your Internet Tablet it will need more power. And since there was no really huge improvement in the Wh/m^3 (capacity per volume) department these devices will run out of battery faster and faster. Just look at mobile phones. Using the N95 as advertised empties the batteries after 10-12 hours for some people.

strong work, deathraceking! Yup, laser projector is phyically possible, xenon lightbulb is out of the question. Adapter to make the iT converts to a projector maybe around the cornor...............nay.

Granted we're not there yet. But I still hold fast to 2 opinions:

1) Future tablets should contain 2 batteries, each hot-swappable.
2) Future tablets should have better interfaces to peripherals, including projectors. That could be a physical video signal link, such as from mini-usb.

That is great. Yes, you can't project long on batteries, but that is not what is holding back implementation of projectors in handhelds.

The best thing about projectors is that they directly address the biggest (previously thought to be unavoidable) disadvantage handhelds have against laptops - small display. Laptops have battery issues too, all the time, because of the large LCD screen. But if you have a handheld with the option to dynamcially switch between a small display or a larger projected display, that helps to eliminate the display disadvantage of handhelds and in some ways makes the handheld preferable. Use a small screen when on batteries (laptops can't do that), and project when you can.

To summarize, it's not the batteries that is holding up projectors. If a projector could be put in a handheld inexpensively, and the only drawback was that it needed AC power, then someone would have done it.
