I've had many, but when we had a friend over to see a film yesterday, and our dvd-player broke down, I downloaded the same film and connected my n900 to the television set. It worked perfect! And the whole procedure only took fifteen minutes!

I would have to say I had two wow moments:

1. using the conversations app. still love it and is one of the reasons I bought the phone (simple but essential for me since I'm an SMS addict - which is why I'm also loving this keyboard although wish it was 4 row so i can get more space for my bear paws plus fit in some extra buttons).

2. last week my laptop had to go for repair and I had a lot of downtime so at home I used the N900 for 3 days straight as a primary pc. using WLAN hours on end while connected to TV-out I was able to chat, email, read news, browse this forum and stream movies/music all from this sleek, tiny device. it was definitely a wow moment for me.

still loving it. oh and also in case noone else has stumbled on this yet I've discovered a HUGE improvement in battery life when I charge via my laptop. someone else on here mentioned "slow charge" vs "fast charge" and it's definitely true in my experience. USB charging has made a noticeable improvement in battery life for me in the past 2 days.

Does "WOW, I wish I had one" count?

Almost everything "just works"
And if something isn't working, the community fixes it quite soon
syncevolution for one. Just great piece of software ported to maemo.
I'm only missing ability to send calendar invites with SMS. No fix for that (so far).

I was at a bar on Saturday night drinking some beers watching a band, and my work called me. It was almost 11 PM. We had some problems with some middleware that was affecting our stores.

I hung up, popped open the phone, vpn'd into work, ssh'd into a couple of my boxes, cleaned up some files, restarted an application, logged into it via the browser to make sure all was well, logged off, closed the phone, drank more beer.

Where and how did you download a movie that quickly??? Quite impressive.

I've had several wow moments. 3 this weekend:

We have crappy radio reception where we live, and on Sat evening were listening to a show and the reception was worse than usual on our big stereo. I opened up the N900, turned on FMRadio, pushed sound out of the speakers, and got excellent sound and reception (this is the first time my wife was impressed with the device despite my lauding its praises for a while now)

The second was more prosaic - messing around with some UI stuff in CLI I managed to put the baby into a funk from which it could not recover. I grabbed my N810, ssh-ed in to the N900 and copied the backup file back. Reboot and presto all was well. I didn't stop messing and messed it again, this into a reboot loop which meant I couldn't ssh in. Plugged into my laptop and when it tried to reboot it couldn't (connected via USB mass storage...) - then I ssh-ed in from the N810 and fixed it again. After all of which, it works flawlessly. If you're in such a reboot loop, this might work for you before flashing. YMMV.

Perhaps the most interesting was when I was using the N810 to fix the N900. The wow moment was very much along the lines of 'wow, the keyboard and feel of the N810 is very nice and I almost prefer it, but the whole package of the N900 is so much more tactile.'

Nice job Nokia...
