Thanks for a great application!
This is one of the best maemo apps so far :=) Really like the Gui and functions.
I have a feature request
When i search for new songs, I would like to get the most popular songs listed first, is this possible?
And also, Is it possible to compile this app for ubuntu desktop? Would like to use this app with remote X for controlling music on my htpc
Cheers

Hopefully the new version is coming soon and would work for me. The current version is unusable! I haven't been using qspot for a while but now I decided once more get the premium account to use spotify on my N900. Qspot worked the first time I launched it quite long without problems before it crashed. After that I haven't been able to do pretty much anything with it. Rebooting or reinstalling doesn't help. It might crash anywhere; before login, loading playlists, scrolling playlists etc. And everytime it gives me timeout error when loading playlists, it doesn't matter if I'm using 3g or wlan... I'd like qspot, shame it doesn't work at all...

In order to possible get some additional information what might be the source of the crashes you are experiences, what is the output (in case you start qspot from the xterm) before it crashes? When you said it crashes before login, do you mean it crashes before pressing the Login button, or during the login process? Have you installed the latest version (0.0.5-4) from extras-devel or the garage page? The playlist loading timeout is now defines to 30 seconds, in some case (if you e.g., have shared / collaborative playlists) the loading can take significantly longer. I am considering adding a new option to the settings dialog so the timeout value would be user configurable.
Also, do you have some custom kernel / OC in use?
Anyway thanks for the feedback, hopefully we can find some solution to your problems!
Also the next version is very close now, hopefully it will solve some problems..

At some point it did crash even before pressing the Login button, but that's not common. I'm using the latest 0.0.5-4 version, I have 63 playlists and some of them are indeed shared playlists from friends and oh yes, I have the "Enhanced Linux kernel for power users" installed.
Running qspot from xterm gives me the following:
Attempting to load unloaded track from track collection
Attempting to load unloaded track from track collection
Attempting to load unloaded track from track collection
Attempting to load unloaded track from track collection
metadata updated..
Attempting to load unloaded track from track collection

Segmentation fault
*crash*
And this is a shortened version of the happening... this was such a long list of repetition that I can't see the start of it. This all happened after pressing the Login button.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the latest test the qspot refuses to start at all. The only thing it gives me is:
~ $ qspot
Unsupported date format character at 1 (%-d.%-m.)
~ $
At this point the only option I have is to restart the whole device.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once now it loaded all my playlists and worked just fine. At one point I decided to make a phone call and pressed pause. After the phone call qspot played only the buffered section and didn't load anything after that. The xterm's last lines had the following:
+play
-play
Pre-buffering active; next track started
Playback finished..
Logged out
+player load
-player load
+play
-play
... and nothing happens.
Restarting the qspot found only 2 of my 63 playlists... =(
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some requests for the upcoming versions:
-Way to open specific album from a song title. I mean if you're playing some random song or see a song in the search result, you could click somewhere (eg. album art image) to open the album where the selected song is. I haven't found a way to do this at the current version.
-Support for offline song selection would be nice. =)
Thanks for all of your work, hope this provides some help!

Do you see the "Loading playlists" message at all before QSpot crashes?
Are you running at the stock frequency or overclocked frequency?
