You could check it with fsck.
Make sure it is not mounted. Just to be sure run "Close Debian" in advance. Then run (adjust the path):Tip for the future: I always have a copy of my debian working image on my N900 from a moment of which I know it's ok. It takes awfully long to create it initially, but once created you can quite quickly update it with (again, adjust the pathes): or restore it:(@qole: It would be nice if the next image could have the mount point for /home/user/.config seperated from the /home/user/.config directory of maemo, maybe just a seperate subdirectory. This is the only place I messed up and that I could not recover easily with rsync. Having it seperated from maemo would make it easy to clean up: just delete the directory, without having to think about what is debian and what is maemo)

What have you done in your attempt to uninstall and reinstall? Was it not possible to start with a fresh Debian image?

I have a problem.

I had to flash the N900. Had a copy of "Easy Debian" custom. I need to install it again without having to download the image from the network.

How I can do?

WhiteWolf, did you lose / erase your MyDocs directory? If not, your image should still be there, intact.

this is almost certainly a n00b question, but in the EasyDebian chroot environment, I can't change LC_CTYPE.

I want to change LC_CTYPE, because I use subversion to keep the file synced with my desktop/laptop machines, but some of those filenames use UTF8 encoding.

Just setting 'export LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8' works, but I can't execute the same command within a script!

For example, setting /root/.bashrc to a single line containing 'export LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8' doesn't work. Executing the .bashrc file from the command line (either with the execute bit set, or with 'sh') doesn't work either.

This really puzzles me, since throughout the web I can see examples where people have set LC_CTYPE from within a script such as .bashrc or .zshrc

you can use this command to set all: localedef -i en_AU -f UTF-8 en_AU

Hi guys. Lil help needed here. I have been using ED for a while and decided to install a few apps through Synaptic pkg mngr. after i updated the catalogues searched a few things to see if it was there i then closed it without installing anything. BUT, when i went to go check in Maemo, my Rootfs suddenly only had 55meg left, from 92meg before opening Synaptic. And "apt-get clean" didnt help. Can any of you?

Ele-Mental: Installing apps in Easy Debian has no impact on your Maemo rootfs. Everything is happening in the "virtual disk drive" image file in your MyDocs folder...

But thats the thing. I didnt install any apps. I just activated all the catalogs in synaptic, pressed reload, and watched as my rootfs space went down. No other apps were open at the time.

@qole Does ED not touch you rootfs at all?
