reasonable person can look "oh, it is 30.11.2009 or earlier. so i must wait to monday 30.11.2009". if device ships earlier, customer will have happy surprise.

stright date means that you either get the device when announced or be very pissed off.
Ok, you work for Nokia ... now everything is clear

Dear customer

we’re sorry to again advise you that the n900 has been delayed. There is however good news - nokia have advised that we will receive stock into our nokia retail stores to allow us to dispatch your n900 on the 3rd december. Please accept our sincere apologies for this further delay which is out of our control, and be assured that you are on a priority list for dispatch of a nokia n900 as soon as it becomes available.

Nokia retail stores and nokia online are the only place that the n900 is currently available on a pay monthly contract. For more details of the nokia n900 please visit our new nokia retail website www.nokiaretail.co.uk

if you would like to discuss your pending order please email us at webshop@nokiaretail.co.uk.

Is Italy traditionally a big market for Nokia?
Latest estimates place 1.4 mobiles / person (~60 Mio persons)

Is this big market enough?!

I don't think they got the memo.

Seriously though, that's great news that it is shipping in Italy, maybe I can get my Italian friend to order and it might be quicker? LOL

Ran aground in the Pitcairn Islands after ramming and sinking a ship carrying iphones and droids. So they have "arrived" in the UK.

The N900 Italian keyboard is a pain for an Italian user, I can't imagine what an American customer can do whit it.
