It would be very helpful if the layout could be the same as the system one.
After ending the alarm (not delaying) the device doesn't always go back to the previous status (i.e. sleeping).

I don't think I have any influence on that. The alarm dialog is provided by libalarm (Nokia). Does this happen with their world clock as well (which is a frontend to libalarm just like my app)? If yes, you can simply file a bug to Nokia.
edit: I just tried this and for me it went back to sleep. I'm pretty much suspecting a bug in libalarm or "unexpected behavior" at least, but I'm pretty certain that if you have problems, this is not related to Alarmed.
