Just bought more shares in Nokia. This baby will hit 20 in 5 years, and i am in for the long haul.

Q2 2011 Nokia had no WP whatsoever, Q2 2012 Nokia released their Lumia 900 and were selling half a dozen other WP at the same time. He is comparing a draught quarter where Nokia did not exist, to one where Nokia launched their flagship WP. Yet still Symbian and blackberry outsold it in that quarter of both 2011 and 2012. Those numbers are not what he believes they are. He then extends that growth to somehow mean WP8 is going to overtake them without realizing where that jump came from, Nokia buyers.

Wouldn't place too much hope on what he says. Matthew is openly a WP pusher (dare I say fanboy) looking for numbers to gain a little comfort in his platform of choice:

And....what is your point? I tend to agree with him, by the way. If you want easy to use, smoothest OS, that is idiot proof, WP is great. And that is what most individuals want. I have used lumia 710 and 800, and both are great. Much better than N9 in doing the basics.

My point is he did not look at the numbers impartially at all and extended them to his own beliefs without much thought or reason.

Also please stop with irrelevant bashing of N9 at any opportunity, not because I think you are not entitled to your opinion but because I don't see the relevance when the competitors on that list are blackberry, symbian, iOS and Android, who are above.

You are right. N9 is irrelevant to NOKIA stock and has always been irrelevant. Symbian is a goner. So what is left?

2011Q2? You don't have to look that much further back to see a growth percentage of thousands and tens of thousands. Once the first is sold, the growth in percentage will be tremendous.

Not sure what you mean there volt. First one of what sold, Nokia handset? Even looking that far back It's in the hundreds it seems. 277% to be exact, 1.2% vs 3.2%.

277% at that point doesn't say anything about success. It just means that Windows Phone was new. Windows Mobile had 3% market share and that was considered a huge failure.
