I'm back from work.

Just reading through 20 pages generated within the last 6 hours..

1 thing that came to mind was I had doubts they won't be shipping out the device today because I never saw the latest firmware uploaded on NSU for the N900.

The latest is still 1.009.42.2 and it's only available for product code 0574383 (Germany)

When we see more firmware uploaded, we'll know for sure they're ready to ship the device.

Shipment has started, according to this (dutch) site:
http://www.mobilyz.com/nieuws/hardwa...u-uitgeleverd/
Some others report the same as well. Don't know if they are reliable. Going to do some more research.

Edit: this site reports the same. It even says Nokia announced they started shipping today:
http://www.connexie.nl/actueel/2731/...e_winkels.html

Not sure whether it's true, though, because both only say it will be in the shops "this month". Sounds a bit vague to me.

Also; regardless of what the release date is, and what the source of the hold-up is, the decent thing to do is to tell us honestly what's going on, not deliberately keep us in the dark with only occasional vague hints to go on.
That does rather assume that the holdup is a firmware issue and not something with hardware - maybe even an accessory that is in the main package? Sure they don't want a battery recall incident like Sony do they?

id be fine with getting my pre order soon if the only drawback was a slight risk of shock and death. I already seppuku'd myself once over this whole thing.
