People, please use punctuation marks so we can understand what you're trying to say. These blocks of text are difficult to read on a screen...
I skip those posts without punctuation altogether when reading. They are mostly useless anyway.

Just read the post you were referring to and indeed... useless.

EDIT: And to stay on topic, I do not regret buying the n900 but I only spent 190 euro on it (subsidized by t-mobile). My only issue is with the battery life but other than that it's a great device.

Love mine, especially now, as it is at last, a usable satnav, a pocket pute.

It is such of a swiss knife of a pute, lives snug in the top pocket of my jean jacket, two fully charged batteries, polishing rag, and earphone/aerial in an inner pocket, you see its such a cute pute.

Nice cradle for it in the car and plugs into the 12 volt feed.

I really don't regret it, even less so today, as my topcashback finally got paid out to me, so my new n900 direct from nokia back in November offically cost me £280 ;-)

Check out Witter, a twitter client for N900
http://danielwould.wordpress.com/witter

If Witter isn't working for you, eg crashes/doesn't start, gives errors etc etc. Please run it from x-term using:
run-standalone.sh python2.5 /opt/witter/witter.py

This will generate diagnostic output. Without this I cannot help you.

No regrets. 99% perfect with 1% holding out on some refinement via future software upgrades ;

ovi/pc suite compatibility
portrait mode,
media player equaliser/sound tweeks
fmms integration
3g/2g automated switching

Just a few that come to mind otherwise a boss phone i'm enjoying immensely.

Second hand it cost what.. a couple of days' pay?

It cost 10% of what my quad bike cost.. and I've used it at least 10 times more than the quad in hours-terms..

..so can't really complain.

I think there's this expectation that vital, everyday items are dirt cheap, and luxury, leisure items are acceptable to have sat in the garage depreciating a fortune..
