I don't really want to flash it in case something goes wrong (i'm not too tech savvy to sort it out). Think i'll just have to wait until Vodafone sort themselves out.

We really need to see the rootfs size readjusted. It's really becoming a problem for me.

ScottishDuck - unfortunately that will never happen on this device......
It is a solid chip....

There are many many things you can do - i have 80+ apps on my n900 and have never hit the rootfs problem yet. i'm down to about 52mb at the moment and thats with extras testing enabled....

I agree there should be more space, to simply avoid the amount of these issues that have occurred, or at least provide an easier option to help sort it

I was aware of space saving methods but I wasn't aware the rootfs was a solid chip. How dissapointing.

Hi gang,

I want clean the entire N900 and I read that this needs to be done with flashing the cell with the firmware and also flashing the eMMc

But what comes first?
I have read the wicki thread and there were some conflicting statements..

Please some help...

According to the Nokia Firmware site, and to the wiki, you should flash the firmware first and then the eMMC (without booting the phone up in between).

Thanx but that is the problem...

When I flash the firmware the cell boots up!
It goes in to the start screen where you can set the date, time etc.

So everytime the phone boots after flashing the firmware!
After the eMMC it doesn't...

Am I doing something wrong?

I don't know - the only time I reflashed was before they'd put those notices up, and I reflashed the eMMC first, then the firmware. That worked fine for me.
