I followed the instructions reported in the first post. I set spanish as the language(by setting the codeToFolder right value) but I cannot get voice directions.

On the one hand, I wonder if we also have to modify the "soundfile val" at the config.xml file, since we changed the extension of the voice files to .wav.

For instance:
<maneuver_at_endofstreet>
<soundfile val="english\english_male\g5mod_004"/> <!-- at the end of the road -->
</maneuver_at_endofstreet>

Modified into?:
<maneuver_at_endofstreet>
<soundfile val="english\english_male\g5mod_004.wav"/> <!-- at the end of the road -->
</maneuver_at_endofstreet>

On the other hand, I wonder if this only works for some firmware release versions, such as UK or USA. I have the Global release.

May you report your firmware release version and if you can get voice directions?

heartbreakdoctor, check within the config.xml contents, there you'll find the lines I reported as example.

Indeed, they are taken from the english version I obtained from here http://static.s2g.gate5.de/maploadervoice/english.zip.

Do you mean something else?

now i understand what you mean yes i have it but i dnt think they meant that we should change that,but what you should change is other files with config after you extract spanish or english.zip and change these sound files to .wav even try to play any of them after changing to .wav and you will understand what i mean,whats important i did that and nothin happend lol

I know they do not mean to add .wav endings within the config.xml. But I see there is more people with the same problem of not getting the voices guidante to work. I'm just wondering, if this could be a solution.

I had already changed the sound files to .wav, as I pointed in post 234. I played them also, and they work with the media player.

Sorry I haven't been on here more: I've been coding more at my day job, so I don't have as much interest in coding in the evenings right now.

You don't need to change the XML files to put in the .wav extensions: the new javascript code does that.
