Well said. Its this blanket acceptance of the corporation being in the right, the consumer being in the wrong that is what's ****ing up this whole planet. Im no hippy but why do people have so much faith in big corporations whose sole purpose is to make as much money out of us as possible?

I have not once come on here saying I HATE THOSE ****S AT NOKIA etc, instead I have complained about the amount of misleading information that has stuttered its way out of the Nokia camp. Their press office need to sort their **** out.

So anyways, I am hoping that the Amazon Manager you spoke to was correct on them receiving shipment.

It's also not the "few week delay" that makes customers angry its the Press Release stating that the phone is available yet Nokia has nothing to show. I don't care if it doesn't make a difference for Nokia, I get annoyed when people come here or anywhere defending Nokia or any other company after the company has wronged even one consumer. It's also not only Nokia that has this going on, its nearly every company but people here are voicing it like Nokia is GOD. People not accepting that the Press Release was inaccurate is just sad. Fanboys suck.
I get the impression that Nokia were overwhelmed by interest in the N900 (and I think they have been guilty of underestimating the growing high end market as a whole) but if last minute bugs were found in maemo 5 then it makes more sense for them to fix them and piss off a few customers instead of damaging the reputation of a brand new platform which is going to be a huge part of their future.
Having said Ive seen so many reviews and youtube vids Im worried about becoming so familiar with it that when it finally arrives in my hand I ill be like 'meh'.

Sure, I agree with you that fixing them is important, but what does that have to do with releasing a press release for actual availability? The press release came two days ago, the bug fixes were before that.

Damn, I changed the shipping option on my Amazon order from 2day to 1 day shipping, and now it's displaying this:
The following item will arrive after December 25, 2009.

I hope I didn't just screw myself and put myself in the back of the line...
It wasn't showing that message before.

OK Im not going to defend them any further its just that over the years I have become so used to reading the net, uncovering rumours about a possible device, seeing spy shots hearing about the official unveiling then waiting for it to become available in my region that I know never to expect a new phones I have my heart set on in my hands without a long wait ;(

I understand that, I have no problem waiting, if they didn't have a Press Release stating availability then I wouldn't really care because atleast I would know they were on top of it, or in the Press Release they could of stated that the phones would start becoming available throughout the rest of November, no they said that the flagship stores and nokia sites and retailers like Amazon would have it available on the 18th. Lost hope.

Niche product? Maybe that's what they were thinking in August. Right now the N900 is the number 1 product in Amazon's cellphones and accessories category.
