Well, isn't alredy well known that the N9xx-whatever, that have a keyboard and it's supposed to be a dev device is "new old stock"?

Remember, by the roadmap the N950 should be ready for quite some time, and Nokia is "giving it away" to devs to make an use of such stock.

No other reason why it's underpowered.

They have had partnership with ST-Ericsson since February 2009. At the time U8500 was meant for Symbian, but then we also need to remember that Maemo was not told to be for phones at the time and Nokia was very low-key about the whole OS. MeeGo was of course still far from being born.

U8500 was very much of a Nokia platform and so far we have seen it move to OS projects Nokia has moved. But somehow i feel it's even more unlikely than OMAP4.

My vote still goes for OMAP36xx for both devices, if there will be dev and consumer device.

I do have a friend working for N-Seres.. in South America. I sent her a mail at the weekend and asked a few things.. which she just replied to.. and she told me lots..

We might have to wait until September for the new device.. which may not be called N9 or N950.. she told me the company are thinking about breaking with tradition and just calling it something else like one word.. it will be N-Series of course..

There is currently only 1 model planned for release on MeeGo.. with a keyboard!

The whole N-Series division is currently in the process of becoming WP7.. and she told me that the things coming after this device are even cooler..

WP7/8 (whatever) are changing just as much as Nokia to bring something new to the table... so expect the Nokia WP devices to look and feel nothing like the devices that are already out.

She said the MeeGo device was pretty cool but wasn't as enthusiastic as she was about where they are going with WP7/8...

I really don't doubt that the name will break tradition - if it is a disrupting device, there's no reason why it would be part of an existing family of products, since it's an unique device.

And N-series moving to WP only is not surprising, either.

About the rest, I wouldn't put my money on it, because all the other rumors going on. i'll wait and see.

You have made your point over and over again, but there is a huge difference between you and Koajwujwer123. The thing is you have your opinions 100% based on speculation and rumors, while Koajwujwer123 claims he works for nokia and has the actual device. Now there is no particular reason for anyone to believe or not believe what Koajwujwer123. His statements are not something I can prove or disprove with the information at hand. Now you can naturally ask questions about what he knows, but unless you actually have proof that he is lying, then calling him a liar without any proof does not make him a liar, but it makes you a bit of a cock. You are entitled to your own theories, but since you haven't even claimed to know the facts, then you have no right to call Koajwujwer123 a liar.
i beg to differ
even though i picked up a couple non-NOKIA videos on the way, i base my hopes on Stefan Elop and Rich Green's statements and Maemo's history (starting w/ OS2005 on 770 and NOKIA phones before (7110, 1st WAP phone, 7650 1st Symbian phone, 7710 (a failure btw) 1st touch screen device w/ only 9 keys and a navigate / click "key"))
like i pointed out several times, the rumours on this thread, as well intended as they may be, are hardly more then the general statement (that you can still find on some news pages those days) that NOKIA gave up MeeGo (and Symbian) for wp7
and even though you most likely didn't care to read (m-)any of my posts, i keep an open mind when reading posts here
(e.g. http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...36#post1013236 ).

what i'm unhappy with here is that Koajwujwer123 poses as the holder of the ultimate truth when in fact the device he had may have been nothing but an experimental device that consumers will never see. as he refuses to state anything but "i had / have the device" it is impossible to appreciate how trustworthy he is.
part of my denigrating him is avoiding that anyone who comes along this thread thinks he is holder of the holly grail or something.
his fans may not see my posts anymore (i don't care) but unwary Internet users will (that's what matters to me)

and i have been reaching out in a conciliating way, he never bothered to reply to this, except twice in a defiant way.
like i pointed out in a couple posts yesterday, NOKIA doesn't care about rumours and i'm pretty sure they don't want their employees to feed rumours.
and even though i was one of the 1st to point out that he never breached his NDA, can't help wondering how long Koajwujwer123 will stay @ NOKIA if he continues to "misconduct" like this.
he is young, he'll learn, hopefully not the hard way.

i hope you realise your post is just as unreliable as any of Koajwujwer123?

thus we will have to trust you (or not) on that.

yours?
you mean the one you had for a few days, right?
don't let the heat of the argument make you brake your NDA after all.
even if you returned the device, the NDA still bears.
i can't help feeling you are already in enough trouble in NOKIA's books without giving them an excuse to terminate you.

Of course.. and i'm not trying to spread rumours with it.. but i'm happy with what she told me. I'm not totally against WP7 either but i do prefer open source.. i've for the most part enjoyed my N900 experience.

For those that claim to be on the inside it won't be any trouble to track down a female worker from Argentina the the initials M.J.. you'll know that i'm telling the truth. And she hasn't told me anything that's not already out there so there's no way she'll be in any trouble.

Does this device resemble what was being waved around at the podium of the Intel Conference last year? I can not find the images of that. I know they had been on the forum in the past.
