ok, the new XLV kernel is up and should fix most problems some people have.
The ideal kernel is not updated but if it works for you consider yourself lucky.

So are you abandoning ideal then? Are you seeing any issues with it? Seems to work quite well for me, though the battery charge did start falling eventually
EDIT: Just noticed your message around the shutdown. What does your /proc/bootreason say? It could be a watchdog shutdown
