this pen-like device is basically a bluetooth handset that you carry in your pocket. Your tablet stays in your bag, but you can make and place calls with this tiny pen device. This is ****ing perfect! Samsung nailed it! Bt handsets are incredibly rare, and this is right on the money.

With low-cost data-plans, this is looking to be a shockingly solid offering.

I'm beaming... Time to simmer down..

Interesting bit:
It seems that both Tabs have a 3MP on the back. Samsung opted out of the 8MP camera, probably for cost saving reasons.

EDIT: Complete with video.

EDIT: Updated price

Wow.. Talk about being competitive!
Seriously--those prices are GREAT!! I'm seriously pondering Swappa'ing my old Galaxy Tab out and getting one of these now.

The 8.9" looks like it could be a very good deal. I just wonder if the wifi versions will have GPS/e-compass or not? Very tempting come summer, this may be hard to resist.

With the smattering of features, this makes a worthy upgrade. I'm seriously psyched for this device.

The 8.9" version is the one that I like the best. What are your thoughts?

There is no mention of GPS, but I *bet* that the feature would be included (a compass is mentioned). If it wasn't I would be seriously shocked.

This is the most comprehensive blog post on the Galaxy Tab unveling, including some outstanding videos by AndroidCommunity.com, and the entire keynote!

Enjoy!

You know what's odd? It seems that the Tab 8.9 is more equipped for the enterprise than RIM's new playbook. If you watch the keynote, Samsung is gunning hard for the enterprise space, and it looks as if there is barely any competition on the horizon.

The 8.9 is a serious enterprise device. It's well positioned, and seems to have great policies in place to make it functional and secure.

A picture is worth a thousand words:

Top to bottom:

I think they were already CLEARLY aiming in that direction considering how they revamped the calendar and other apps on the Samsung Galaxy Tab as it is and even included a free copy of ThinkFree Office and made such a good, comfortable tablet keyboard.

A closer size- comparison with the iPad:

The reduced breadth is negligible at 0.2mm, but man are these devices thin!
