IIRC it was once or twice stated in the forums that this caused if powersavings on router is not to the like of the N900 or vice versa.. I'd have to search... but I think it was this thread in the first1/3...

HI. I've had mine since this morning and I've had no end of reboots. sSuddnely on reboot, it crashed half way through the white dots bootscreen. I couldn't do anything but pull the battery out and boot, but the same thing has happened. Does anybody have any ideas please? I'll be phoneless if if i have to send the damned thing back so I'd rather try something first. Also, to note, I have been using my Virgin Sim in it to test, so haven't activated my t mobile contract yet.

Thanks in advance.

edit: the only thing I've installed is OM Weather, but i had the rebooting well before then- the freeze thing is new.

Ninjaboxergirl, does it reboot if you run it of the charger?

Battery was half full but went down to about a 1/4 with playing.

The N900 charger was dead on arrival (or at least didn't have an effect on the battery icon or amber light- so I charged it with my N95 and the adapter for about 3 hours while i messed with it. It never got to green so i unplugged it when it showed about 90%. last i looked it was showing about 1/5. I'll try and charge it switched off and see what happens.

addition

just plugged the charger in with it switched. It attempted to boot and froze in the same place, but amber light is flashing on charge .
I can see a ghost of the white dots now, that's all.

OK, I am another one to join "random reboots" bandwagon, unfortunately. :( I've switched on my new N900 just this evening, used it for less than an hour and it rebooted three times. Then I switched it off and plugged to charger, but I can see charging is complete, so I resume playing with it and see how reboot issue goes...

Now, I've went through all comments on #6334 bug and voted for it. However, I think this is a hardware issue. A friend of mine who also got his N900 today, he was playing quite heavy with it since the morning and so far didn't experience a single reboot. Mine rebooted three times in less than an hour... Thing to note is that first reboot happened on truly vanilla software, I didn't even manage to get to the application manager.

I am going to see how thing evolves over time and hopefully add some input to bugzilla, but I'm thinking to just call MPD and get replacement straight away...

Oh goodie, I'm on the train too. Yaaaaaaay. Got the phone yesterday from Dell (US). Finally charged it up today (green light) and turned it on. Now it constantly reboots. Haven't installed anything (doesn't stay on long enough). Seems to be loading then "Internal error. Application 'Camera' closed" and it reboots. Then again and again and again. I suppose the bright side is I still have my TouchPro. This is my first Nokia device, grrrrrrr...
