Newegg tells you they´re charging before they pick it.
So if you get a Newegg email confirmation for a charge, be quick to cancel from Amazon.
I have a order from Dell @476 without rebate (the double coupon deal + NC tax) and one with rebate from Amazon @479.99. I am buying both. (Unless nothing happens during the upcoming week, then I might cancel one and get myself a N86 instead)
It´ll be interesting to see if they go out on the same day.

I think if I don't hear a peep from Amazon this week I'll just go ahead and cancel my pre-order with Amazon.

I'm new to the forums here, but I've been awaiting this device for some time now. I can tell you that if you try to place an order now (actually yesterday) on Amazon.com, that they notify you before you complete the order that it WILL NOT ship before December 25th. Is this what they've always said, or is this due to the (seemingly) massive amount of pre-orders that they have for it?

I have 2 ipod touch devices (first and second gen). So why am I using my n810 now ? because Its keyboard is rather good not the virtual nonnsense that swallows half the screen estate and is lifeless despite the autocorrect. I have mauku running in the background and also listening to UCB internet radio. Skype does not need to be launched at expense of these. Nokia annoys me no end with their shabby operations but when it comes to making a practical device for big boys, they are numero UNO, period.

I wouldn't put to much into the AFTER Dec. 25th status that Amazon gives you, they did that for everyone who pre-ordered the device over a week ago I believe, so it's just a way for them to CYA as they are not giving actual ship dates.
With that said, there is a glimmer of hope that Amazon will begin shipments tomorrow based on some reports from Amazon personnel that have been posted here, so keep your fingers crossed (but don't get your hopes up to high) and tomorrow we may all be pleasantly surprised.

Screw it, I'm canceling my Newegg order and just going with Amazon. I remembered I had $50 gift credit on there (bank reward) so I might as well use it.
If it happens that the 10th roams around and I still don't have it I'll just go phoneless. It doesn't matter much considering finals are pretty much then.
