Yup, I'll have me some of that hot random reboot action too.

Got the phone only 9 hours ago from NFS Regent St, first reboot was on the train on the way home and have had plenty more since then. Totally random in terms of what I'm doing on the device.

Looks like I'll be on the phone to Regent St first thing in the morning...

I'm getting more convinced this is a hardware-related issue. What is common in these reboots is that they happen fairly quickly after purchase/receiving parcel (mine rebooted within literally first 10 minutes after switching on), frequently and have no regular pattern. While some other lucky owners don't experience anything wrong after all day of heavy using.

I'm just guessing there's some faulty chip/memory within a series of devices hence rebooting problems... But that's just guessing.

Ok I have Flashed the device yesterday, and it worked well for about 3 hours...BUT...once I connected to WLAN at home started browsing, it rebooted , now the reboot cycle has been started again.

Well guess flashing wont solve the matter after all.

At least it dint crash for FIRST 3 hours even once, and let me tell you it was pretty intense, cause I hooked it up to TV and was watching a rip of WALL-E on my TV which played flawlessly . It dint even reboot ONCE during the entire movie.

Oh well back to square one !!

This is just another reason to believe this issue is hardware-related, unfortunately, and most likely we all going to end-up with warranty replacement units. :(

ok guys i got my n900 yesterdat from nyc nokia store. I had constant reboots like totally random sometimes, on IM, Web browsing or sometimes on the UI. There is no exact ocassion it freezes n reboots. so last night I flashed it using the guide on wiki for windows users.

one thing i dont get is that after flash i still had my skype contacts and browsing history, although apps i installed where gone and oh i still had pics after flash. so is there anyway to completely reflash like starting from scratch. I have windows xp and vista installed at home no linux and im not a linux genius.

I didnt install anything from devel except hazeplugin. i think i had reboots even before installing haze-plugin. Maybe this reboot problem still exist because the device didnt completely reflashed.

Sometimes it just reboots and couple of times it vibrates really hard then turns off. totally random.

So plz help!!! im loving this device but these random reboots are such a turnoff.

so what should i do now? go replace it? or is there any flashing method which completely wipes out everything.

and oh my device dont have any mic problem or dead pixels only this reboot thing... ugh!

plz plz guys show me a way. ASAP! if there is no other way maybe its just a faulty unit n I would go replace it today. can't wait.

thanks if anyone helps
p.s. i typed all this using my N900, great piece of technology.

If you've reflashed and it's still rebooting then get it replaced.

zb88 - I got mine from the NYC store last week and i had the same issues as you, i returned the device and asked for a new one, I opened the device in the store, played around with it to make sure it was not a lemon.... everything checked out... With the new device i no longer have any reboot issues.
