It makes sense. Just trying to think of a way to better organize them, didn't know it was that complex.

If you mean changing ringtones in device profiles - no.

If you "shutdown" the application from the menu and start again everything should be "good" again... For now anytime you want to change the "default" ring tone you need to make sure to first shutdown mycontacts.
Let me know if restarting the application fixes the issue.
Restarting MyContacts restores normal operation of ringtone function. I will let you know if I find more info.

Thanks a lot for this great application!
One question though, do you happen to know where the contact thumbnails are saved on the N900? After syncing my Nokia 5800 with my N900, I have a couple of contacts with thumbnails. However these thumbnails do not show in my photogallery. I'd like to add new thumbnails to some of my other contacts, but do not know where to place them on the N900 to keep them from showing up in the gallery.

I don't know where they are stored but it should not matter. You can copy the images to any folder on your n900, assign one by one to the contacts and then remove the images. The contact application will make a copy of them and cache them somewhere else.

Thanks for the reply, after I restarted MyContacts it worked like a charm

I do have 2 feature requests though.
1: Could you implement an option to change the groups? We have 5 groups now, but I only need 3 of them. Could you include an option in the widget to hide the empty groups?
2: I put 5 contacts in a particular group, but then wanted to add another contact who should be displayed first. This was impossible, so I had to delete the first 5 contacts so I could add the new one to be displayed first. Could you add an option to manually change the order?

In order to do so I need to find some place buttons - bottom of list on the right? I first thought about having some kind of drag and drop but that will not work because how you scroll...

I don't know if you've considered it. But how about a tap and replace? Similar to how the application launcher does it in PR 1.2.

Though that means you'd have to have some way to switch between tap to delete and tap to move.

Tell you the truth it is not the simplest thing to implement. I would start by either having the buttons or having a pop-up menu... Either one is easy enough to implement. What would you all prefer?

Great app! Makes me love my N900 even more. One idea: would it be possible to make the contacts section of the widget to fold in/out when you press the group icon? That way you don't need an entire desktop for the widget, so less scrolling through desktops.

In theory it is possible... I will play with the idea...
