BTW store.nokia.com is showing it in stock and no longer a preorder. Maybe a good sign?

I just chatted online with a rep at the nokiausa.com store, and was told that the N900 was available for immediate delivery, and that if ordered right now, it would ship out within 24 hours. My question is this...if they are shipping "new" orders this fast at this point, does this mean that ALL of the the preorders have been filled??

Brightpoint has not shipped any preorders. They claim that the "released for shipment" orders are waiting for Fedex to pick them up although they made the same claim yesterday.
I called 1 866 59 NOKIA to ask when it would ship if I placed a new order today. They said it would be the first week of December. They also said that preorders were shipping.
I chatted with a nokiausa.com rep on September 23rd and he told me the N900 would ship before the end of the month so I placed a preorder. He was off by more than 2 months. I would not believe them now.

Not sure the order number reference will help, since they are also supposed to verify who you are too. Their reps may get in trouble if they said you can use another person's order number. The order number is an access point to an account. Dell's security team would use such violations to trim head count by the offenders
Nokia webshop is the worst system I've come across!
pre-order system that triggers fraud system on banks and no ability to re-auth an order!
(Which means pre-ordering was a complete waste of time and effort)
Add to that I can't re-order on my account now as it gives a 500 page, so have had to set up a new one.
Damn next time I'll go with MPD, might be slower but at least it can't be worse than this.
