everybody needs atleast one disc phone. However i would prefer one that could be connected to wristband or other tech.

EDIT: Well, it could be a little thinner...
I think I jumped the gun here. I do not think this phone merits being a disc phone as it is too rounded on one side and the aspect ratio should be closer to 10 to 1 to be a disc phone.

It is more like a "ellipsoidal cap" phone.

absolutely beautiful watch skins and compass.
I know I'd like it just for the vintage feel alone if not the anti-smartphone hook.

640-ish bucks..
they ballparked a rough price comparing it price wise to just-released high end devices.
Final firm price yet to be determined.

Are there any audiophiles among us??

I was looking at portable bluetooth speakers the other day.

I sort of put everything into 3 categories:
1- Extra Small, pocketable.
There's not many options here, and most are pretty bad. Low volume, no bass, distorted treble.

2- Small/Medium
Not pocketable. Easy to carry around on-hand with a tablet. Will fit into a drink holder in a car.
I think it should last a good 6 hours on its own, and be easy to use. Water resistance is highly desired.
NFC is meh. Removable battery and charging your phone is not necessary.
Heaps of choices. Many price points. Performance and battery life ranges vary wildly.

3 - Large
Too large/heavy to hold everywhere. Small enough to fit into a backpack with a laptop.
I think it should last a good 8+ hours (picnic/camp trip). You should be able to charge your phone from its big battery. Replaceable battery is highly desired (so you can prolong the products' lifetime). NFC is meh. Water resistance is desirable.
Heaps of choices. Mostly expensive. Performance is usually good. Battery life is wildly varying.

Then I came across this independent enthusiast:

So if anyone is looking for a good speaker, check this guy out. He's pretty active to questions and answers too. And he's not biased in the least. No everything BOSE makes isn't the best. And could be overpriced. I was just about to buy Logitec's UltimateEars Boom, because the reviews said it was good, it has a very long battery life, water resistant, 360' sound and simple use. This guy tests them quite professionally and he says they suck. So I'm looking to grab a Denon Envaya Mini... I just can't seem to find any in my country

As far as newer faster cores are concerned ... the ARM A72 which was initially expected at the beginning of next year is apparently going to be with us soon. Mediatek have said that their first tablet chips with it will appear in the middle of the year. Samsung are likely to use it in the Note 5 (Q3) too. The A72 cores are really, really fast ....

Bigger news however is that AMD are re-entering mobile graphics. Apparently they've partnered with Mediatek. Could lead to a further shift away from Qualcomm. Also, it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine Samsung licensing AMD GPUs if they're good.

I was always perplexed why AMD pulled out of mobile.
Intel couldn't compete against ARM on the mobile side, so I don't know why AMD didn't just take its ARM licenses and start churning out SoC's for the HTC, LG, SONY, Motorola etc etc of yesteryear.

We know that Apple with its Ax chips, and Samsung with its Exynos chips, were quite competitive from the get-go.

It left the rest to squander with Texas Imaging or Qualcomm, which were both weak offerings. nVidia also ran fine until they lost their target and started making chips for tablets, and not phones (Tegra3 was quite inefficient). TI had financial problems and pulled out of the market. Qualcomm decided to do its own thing, which wasn't smart until they landed the Krait S4 architecture and doubled it with LTE compatibility.

Seems really like a good guys finish last scenario.
AMD chips = out
Sharp displays = out
Palm hardware = out
MeeGo OS = out

Today a large percentage of phones have Android OS, Qualcomm chips, JDI display and most likely a Samsung badge.
