I saw a Pharos i500 GPS (PT250) on Dell for $65 after $10 rebate. I had one of these I used with my Axim X50v and it paired fine through BT with my N800. It was very accurate for as little work as it took me to get it paired and working with MaemoMapper. ...

With these GPS thingys, do you have to pay for maps - or are they available for free? If so, for US only or everywhere?

Thanks for adding to a thread instead of creating one.
Most GPS come with some maps, however Maemo Mapper is a very good application which works with free, easily downloaded maps.
For instance my Garmin 320 came with maps, but costs $50 or so for a new set. Maemo Mapper provides maps, imagery, links to Google etc.
