No, the stuttering is inherent to the Itablet, and is caused by Nokia's design and budgeting stupidities.
Mind you, the first videos I played on my 770 stuttered every two seconds, so we've come a long way, in spite of Nokia.
(knowing that Karel has used his IT MUCH longer that I have).
Am I just not noticing any stuttering? Isn't anyone getting perfect video playback all the time, after their conversion process?

). I get smooth playback on all my converted stuff. Only trouble might be if something's running away in the background pounding the CPU.

The N810 promo video codec is DIVX (hit the menu key while it's playing and scroll down the popup menu to "File Information" and select it).
I think that choosing the DX50 encoding option may play smoother than DIVX (I choose it in the pop up before naming the file when starting encode in Super encoder). While it's still vague, I think DV50 is a more recent version of the DVIX codec (and the newest version is something like 6 - which may be in the newest Super update).
BTW: I just discovered that my new iGo wireless Bluetooth keyboard makes a nice "remote" when using MPlayer!

GA, I'd love to replicate exactly what you do to convert a DVD for the n800 and see whether my issue still comes up. Not sure what is in your library . . . do you have LOTR: Return of the King? If you tell me what programs & settings you use to convert that disk for the Nokia for smooth playback, I will duplicate it and see whether the issue manifests itself. If not, that would be great!

However, I did have some playback problems when I was running loadapplet and some other stuff in the background but since uninstalling a bunch of unused apps, the problem has gone away.

Some people mentioned doing DVD -> DVDShrink -> Nokia Video Converter.
But what file format can be written by DVDShrink and read by the Video Converter? The Converter does not appear to be able to read .vob files (for me, at least).
