I use this on a N800 with OS2008. Pls try to install from commandprompt as root using "dpkg -i streamripper_1.63.1-1_armel.deb" This wll give you a clearer view of what is going wrong.

I think I'm not "getting" what Streamtuner is about. Do you just use it to find what's playing on the internet radio stations, then click on what you like? This seems incredibly labor-intensive and, since the listed song is already partially played or even done playing, not very satisfying. How do you use Streamtuner that you find it enjoyable?

It's one of my most frequently used apps. Mine is set to only view the stream description and bitrate. I also search a lot, stuff like 'swing' or 'standards' or 'video games' Or will search for "1.fm" for a qquick list of the 181.FM and 1.FM stations I enjoy. "news" usually returns good choiices too. I don't bookmark alot incase streams change. When canola becomes more flexible I will copy links in streamtuner to canola to sometimes play with the groovy gui.

just in case anyone else was having a problem with extremely low volume in streamtuner... i found that if i opened mplayer, played anything, and cranked the volume control all the way up (+/- buttons) and then started streamtuner... voila! full volume in streamtuner, adjustable with system volume control.

Does this require xmms? I looked at the settings and it says xmms for the .m3u, how can I change this to the default media player?

The setting in Streamtuner (maemo port) for .m3u is stlaunchm3u %q not xmms.

Streamtuner (maemo port) use mplayer as the default player.

There is no way to use the default media player.
