Thje rss reader won't launch from the personal menu either when added from the list of existing apps. Other than that very nice.

The only app I saw in the list of installed apps which looked like it might be Email was "mcen_ap_name"
It loads an empty Email application and then unloads.

I also tried RSS Reader (as iamthewalrus reported) and it did not load for me either.

This feels similar to when Simple Launcher and Idea were initially released. maybe you can see how they worked this out.

More or less, I got as far as duplicating the Application Menu over the Contacts menu to give myself two Application Menus, buy never really dove into the code. My idea was a little more limited and a little more hackish as I was basically planning on moving the 'My Selection' folder into the new menu and giving us an extra folder slot (and 12 more application slots) to help offset the OS2008's oversized menu.

This execution has a lot more room to grow and offers much better (and cooler customization ), though.

The menu items could stand to be a bit bigger. In my opinion, right now, it's too small.

The RSS Reader works for me. osso_rss_feed_reader, not osso_rss_feed_reader.sh that you get from choosing the .desktop.

Very cool little plug-in. I have downloaded it and installed it the only small gripe is that some of the applications are listed with some very odd names (e.g. game_ap_mahjong_name) which looks like the i18n application name lookup is failing. (currently running as en_GB). Keep us posted when you find a home for this and a repo so I can keep up to date.

ehterguardian: Unfortunately this is the "Name" entry in the desktop file for a lot of the pre-installed apps. You can change the name afterwards with "edit" but I haven't found a way to grab a better name for these desktop entries.

fiferboy: I agree that this is what is in the .desktop file but I can't help thinking that there must be an API to turn this into something more meaningful and that it is probably to do with the huge amount of osso_ locale packages that get installed for each of the pre-installed applications (they put .mo files in /usr/share/locale/<LOCALE>/LC_MESSAGES ). Sorry I am not a c programmer so I can't second guess any more than that.
