i have a problem.
I can install freera-bin but when i try data-demo it doesn'tt want and there is what it says when i try in xterm :
Unpacking freera-data-demo (from freera-data-demo-0.1_armel.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing freera-data-demo-0.1_armel.deb (--install):
error setting ownership of `./usr/share/games/freera/data/scripts': Operation not permitted
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
freera-data-demo-0.1_armel.deb

i have an original version of the game, do i have to install the data package? or if not. what i have to do?

thx :-)

Installed the latest package, and I have installed it to my MMC1. I have main.mix and redalert.mix inside freera\data folder on mmc1. FreeRA won't run though.

I simpler how-to would be nice for us less-than-savvy linux users.

It appears because you have fat fs on this card. unpack data package with tar and gzip and copy gfx, mix, scripts and settings to your /usr/share/games/freera/data directory.
If you want to use original data files remove all files after you have installed demo data pack from mix directory and copy in the same directory :
309406 ALLIES.MIX
2177047 CONQUER.MIX
15179769 GENERAL.MIX
1456342 MAIN.MIX
25046328 REDALERT.MIX
1030861 SNOW.MIX
1038859 TEMPERAT.MIX

ok.
So, I put gfx, mix, scripts and settings forders in /usr/share/games/freera/data directory
When I launch the game in the menu. Nothing appends.
So, I went to /usr/share/games/freera/
and made : ./freera but that doesn't work
vfs /filesystem/externalvfs.cpp line 81: open file ./freera.log
Binpath = .
ERROR: Unable to find mixes for any of the supported games!

I haven't any freera.log file created :s

If you want to play with original cd you have to copy these files:
309406 ALLIES.MIX
2177047 CONQUER.MIX
15179769 GENERAL.MIX
1456342 MAIN.MIX
25046328 REDALERT.MIX
1030861 SNOW.MIX
1038859 TEMPERAT.MIX
in mix directory but first install the demo data remove its mix files and copy yours.
