My wife uses an 8Gb iPod Touch so I can have my N800 all for myself.
Except when we're out home and I use my cell to connect to the internet that's when the fight begins
I've to do some research about using my N800 as an ad-hoc access point in order to share our mobile connection, that should solve the issue.

Now, now, Jerome.

My wife doesn't usually take up new things quickly in the tech area, so I was both impressed by her, and the tablet.

<getting out of trouble> No comments were made about women in general. As we can see by the members of this forum, there are many techno savvy members of the opposite gender. </getting out of trouble>

To avoid future trouble I think it's best to talk about techies and non-techies. So we're all agreed that the tablets do a good job of attracting non-techies?

Incidentally, in case anyone missed it, I got some rather surprising demographics for who was watching the videos on the Internet Tablet School:

For example the 55-65 age group was double the size of the 18-25 age group.

A nice way of putting it, thanks! And I agree, the tablets are fairly simple, and lend themselves nicely to non-techies. Nokia gets great exposure everytime a NIT owner lends theirs to a non-techie friend.

I wonder if it's not so much the tablet itself as the size?

It's just somehow more casual to hold a book-sized object, rather than sitting in front of a large computer. And because the tablet screen is much larger than on any phone it's also much easier to read sites.

Don't sweat it EIPI. You didn't say anything bad. Some posters here are just... touchy.

Well, I thought I would clear the air just to be certain. You never know when things can get out of hand!

I remember posting here that I was buying a Chumby. It is now called "The Bedside Buddy MK2".* Now there are Youtube, Gmail and BBC News widgets available for it, my wife has wholeheartedly embraced it, and it is both late night info fix and morning alarm clock. It was just in the nick of time though as Erin** was eyeing up my N800 suspiciously after I let my kids play Numpty Physics on it (for 2 hours straight!).

* No I am NOT going to tell you what Bedside Buddy MK I was, use your imagination.
** as in "Erin Doors".
