I have tried 5 accounts now. Four of them work, one doesn't.

I did find that same bug report on maemo (see post above). It seems to have been reported, so let's see how long until we get a fix. As I said yesterday, if the addition of Google Talk is the big new feature of this upgrade, then you would think that being able to log in to your Google account to actually use this feature would be required functionality!

I just had a problem where I couldn't sign in ("Network error" in the Presence drop down) - repeated attempts to login all failed, so finally I rebooted the 770 and hey presto I've logged in...

I have problems to connect to GTalk and application repositories. I have tried two GTalk addresses and I can get them to connect maybe every 20th try.

Bugzilla bug 529 is marked as "resolved invalid" and it was resolved setting right date and time. I have correct date and time (time zone GMT+2 & daylight-saving on), my wlan and internet connection is working (internet radio streaming while connecting to GTalk), I have reflashed few times and got same symptoms with two different 770's.

Refreshing application catalog has same kind of problem, it works but I have to try it several times. I wonder if these problems are related? My AP is A-link RR24AP.

I had problems which disappeared when I did the following:

Remove the accounts. Reboot. Reboot. Add the account again, but instead of the pre-defined "@gmail.com", I entered "@googlemail.com". Reboot. Reboot. Only then re-connect to the network.

And: it worked. Don't know which of these activities was necessary, though.

Great!
It is working!
You don't need to reboot.

I am having a problem with T-mobile. When I do gprs I can not go to google.com.

I started playing around with my MTU settings in /etc/ppp/options, I set the mru to 512 and mtu to 576, I can now get to google websites, woohoo.

Well why am I telling you in this thread?

OK, now googletalk will not sign in. I also had same issue using a proxy server googletalk would not sign in. Somewhere along the path, whether its your router or out on the internet somewhere. See if you can find a way to play with you mru/mtu settings and I bet you will find a solution that works.

See this webpage : http://mail.google.com/mail/help/int...ooglemail.html

So as a previous poster suggested, try changing the pre-selected @gmail.com to @googlemail.com Worked for me !

This does not work for me. Rebooting the device or my wlan does not help either. I can connect, but I have to try like 20 times before it works. Sometimes it also drops connection to gtalk while I am talking.

Edit: I just noticed that I can even see the presence state of others while the connection ball is flashing red and green, but I can't call to them. I don't understand what is wrong.

The 'googlemail' solution does not work for me. I am surprised that such a fundamental bug is considered closed, when the reports still persist. Does anyone know if a new bug report has been posted?
