Thanks to all the previous replies I have got Gmail working. For reference to others I found that the port numbers seemed to change when different security options are selected. I had to go back and reset them to be sure. Once I did this it worked.

I am having exactly the same issues as flyingyeti. Both smtp and pop are not working. he 770 states that the smtp server smtp.gmail.com does not exist .... then it gives an error about ssl.

I have exactly the setting as per above with ports etc ..... just doesn't work.

If it says that smtp.gmail.com doesn't exist then it's a DNS problem. Your dhcp server (assuming you're connected through some wi-fi access point) should have given you a DNS that can resolve the address.

Include original in reply: Checked
Request read report: Un-checked

Security tab
Only the last two items are checked

Again, If you haven't set your account to pop3 at gmail.com, you won't be able to read mail.
Cheers BanditRider, I was having some issues setting up gmail on the 770 email client after a re-flash and this sorted it out nicely .
