Hello everybody,

I'm a new Persian N900 user and this is my first post here. Actually I bought my phone last night and I was playing with it all today!

Hmm, I also had the same problem that ninja mentioned. The problem is that Iranian IPs are blocked at maemo servers and this causes the problem. To be honest I'm now using proxy to update/install software on my N900. So ninja can also use a proxy to solve his problem.

But friends, let me tell you what I feel now. I'm a free software user/fan for many years and I eagerly went to buy an N900, because I like freedom and I like to be free. Unfortunately I'm really upset to see that our IPs are blocked. Our only fault is being Iranian. As you may know these days we are fighting with hard-liners for freedom in Iran and many of you non-Iranians also support us, but here in free software and open source community, they don't let us use software freely. This is really disappointing.

I want to ask your system administrators, or who ever is responsible for this, to open IPs of Iran. This is the least you can do to support Iranian people.

Thanks,
irix
