Yes I have. Does not help. Nor does the "switch DC-11 on first and then connect to N900" -method, or "Disable keypad lock first" -method...etc.

--> DC-11 just won't charge my N900 when battery is less than 50%. If battery is more than that (fuller) then it charges. I think it must have something to do with the expected power draw and "intelligent" negotiating loading mechanism (mentioned in many places in this forum, also in this thread).

--> Considering that "intelligence" I'm looking forward on software based fix to this BUG in the next firmware upgrade. I think, It shouldn't be a hardware issue and therefore short circuiting the USB-pins (mentioned elsewhere in this forum) should not be the solution to this case. I base my asumption to the fact that micro USB adapter provided along with N900 is not helping either when using it together with DC-11. I think the adapter should be "short circuited" if something, as it comes along with the N900 :-)

Summary: Only charger that is currently working with my N900 is the original AC-10E. Also other Nokia chargers are working when used with CA-146C Micro USB adapter, although I have noticed prolonged loading times as the output voltage varies between different Nokia chargers.

External battery (DC-11) is not working in any situation or with any method when N900 battery is lower than 50%.

I have seen a picture of a DC11 that looked like it suffered from overheating, so maybe Nokia decided to current limit it. ie by not drawing high currents from 'unintelligent' power supplies?

(And same if i unlock the device before connecting the DC-11)
I don't have this problem.

DC-11 not charging -problem update after the FW update: Still not working, the problem persists. I still hope/think it is related to USB-drivers in the N900 and can be fixed with software update. :-/

With firmware version?

Did you install version 2.2009.51-1?

I am not affected with this problem.

Mine is the same. Wont charge my N900 when completely flat. Its does work when the battery is nearly full.

Lets hope its fixed soon!

Hey, I thought I'd mention this thing I just ran across. A "smart charger" that says specifically that it works with the N900. Cheap too.

When using the DC-11 adapter my N900 indicates that it is charging both at the flashing LED and at the battery icon.

But it is NOT charging. If left connected overnight the battery shows no increase in charge the next morning.

Also, I notice that the little adapter provided with the N900 for this purpose gets hot. Does anyone else have this problem?

My DC-11 charges my N900 fine, even when its battery is nearly empty.

My adapter provided with the N900 also gets hot but you don't need when you charge with the DC-11.
