tracker-status is absolutely unneeded here - I used that in my original post only to show how awesome the machine is thank to it's linux openness (piping the output from one program to the input of another one).


well actually i didnt know how to run it before that haha

that means it is possible that N900 can speak the caller name/ id just like N95 do. should we wait for the application now???

anyone know if it is poosible to talk to the n900, or is it deaf.

I think you could write that with about 15 lines of python, using dbus. Go for it

I installed flite but when I try to get it to say anything it plays a mess of a noise on the speakers, high pitched. If I use the command line to save to wav and play that file, it works well. Is there a setting needed?

mine dont say nothing.... have installed espeak... type tracker-status pressed enter... then typed espeak.... and enter.... then i typed hello... enter... and nothig happened...
