"The N900 is a work in progress and was billed as suitable for developers and early adopters." I never saw this, say, in the advertisement that comes on the N900.
I AM an early adapter, but where was this formally stated by Nokia? Maybe the advertisement stating this should be put in the Wiki -- the issue comes up quite often.
By the way, can the moderators watch the commentary? I don't think calling someone a "dickwad" is called for.

I didn't say it was. This point has been raised several times on this forum and the links posted before.

You said it was "billed" as for early adapters and developers. I think that is untrue. I think it was "billed" as really cool and worthy of weird advertising. That doesn't translate into "developers" to me.
The step 4 of 5 stuff was supposedly said at Maemo meetings. I don't think the typical purchaser of the N900 went to those meetings, or should have.
I just get tired of hearing this stuff about being billed for early adapters and developers only, because I think it's a crock, and always have.

So the attitude that I am capable of typing quickly with a hardware keyboard is annoying? I'm sorry but I was under the impression tht I was entitled to use the device as I saw fit. The comment you quite was in response to another user and 'tongue-in-cheek' regarding another discussion. You really need to learn to understand context.
As for attitude, I believe that you are the one showing an intollerance, not I. As for difference of opinion, I believe that I am still entitled to hold a differing opinion and if you find this such an issue you are going to find the world in general a real pain. Once you learn to debate in a less emotive manner you are likely to be consideredfar more persuasive.

You might note that there is a discussion here by mainstream publication in 2007 so I think we can say this is not cutting edge.
I would also like you to moderate your language. I have not claimed that asking for it is inexcusable I merely pointed out some observations. I believe that I refrained from expressing an opinion. Stop making assumptions about my motivation and quoting them in public!

Please. You know what I'm talking about. My understanding of the context is correct. You didn't post that you're "using your keyboard" as an informative statement. You are doing what i keep saying. "Downplaying other peoples need".
If you are comfortable with what it is. That is fine. Others are not.
My problem is not in your opinion. You and I and everyone is entitled to their opinions. My problem Is that why when someone "whines" as you or others might call it. He or She is given a hard time? blamed for lack of research? ignorance? told that is "device" is the wrong device for them? told to if they want something to just "make" it?
Why not just tell them. This options is not currently available. no plans for it now. Simple. Non-Offensive. Objective.
