One more vote for app instead of widget. also with an UI it would be possible to have more buttons/functions. My Canon supports two different IR shutter releases - there is an instant one (currently implemented) and a delayed one. It would be awsome to get the delayed one too...

Not possible with the remote. I've read some conflicting information about it when connected through a cable, and never had a chance to try it.
I built myself a small interface for it, to add a timer and repeater, that makes it a lot more useful to me. Not sure how interested the author would be in that, or if I should just make my own package, once it's polished a bit more.
