Outside, I prefer to use action mode as -for me- it gives the best results. Inside at home, I go for automatic because of the colors. Night shots are poor; the image on screen responds slow and is shaky. Video not yet tested.
Although the pix are not bad at all, I rate it below my Samsung
G-810 (5MP), far below my Gigabyte GCam (5MP, my best camera phone ever), but far above my Nokia 6230 (3MP, slow).
The quality of the N900 pix were in fact one of the reasons (but not the only one) to choose the N900 and not the Milestone/Droid.

The camera is quite capable at night, but you have to play with the ISO settings manually. Automatic ISO goes way to high in the dark and produces crappy pictures.
These night-shots were taken with PR 1.1.

Classic example of arbitrary Nokia decision making. Couldn't just fallback to the no brainer of tagging with lat/lon if network isn't accessible, could you Nokia?

Someone should write up a guide with sample picture that are wrong and sample pictures that are right and compare the settings used to show some of us how to correctly take camera phone pictures :P

PYCAGE,did you use your n900 to take those picture?Because my photos when i use my n900 are hazy and a bit blue.What did you do to correct the problem,(if you had the same one)?I have installed the P.R 1.2 by the way.
