Try the apn solution in the wiki - it's not the solution I used: Frals has clearly found a better solution than the fiddly way of fixing it we used when fmms was new. If that fixes the apn problem, at least you'll know whether that's causing the overheating (which would cause the battery drain).
I find I can read some webpages but nothing else if I'm on the mms apn - what you can access varies according to provider and what they allow over WAP, I think.

Hi All,
I recently downloaded the MMS app using the application download manager. In addition to that I downloaded a few games and a KMplayer.
All of a sudden my battery is draining a lot faster than before. It lasts only for 4 hours or so. The phone gets really really hot. I have to keep switching it off and taking off the battery to cool it down.
