first overclock is just something for guys that know what to do,you will loose your warranty and maybe your phone will be laggy and "bricked"so you will have to flash it.
but if you dont know what pr.1.2 is i guess you dont know what flashing is.
pr.1.2 is the actual firmware.
go to the program manager and install all updates then reboot and maybe your problem will be solved.
and i recommend to you>
DONT LISTEN TO THE GUYS HERE AND DO NOT OVERCLOCK YOUR PHONE!!!!!!
if you have learned something about your phone, voltages, batteries, mhz, if you now how to flash and if you dont give a **** about your warranty you can try it
if you want to help, provide a solution rather than complaining about people who are trying to help.

I don't know what to recommend, as people are complaining on what i recommend. so, your best bet is to call nokia care and have them take a look at it, or they might tell you a solution.
btw, do you have any themes installed, multiple apps running in the background?

yes youve right.but tell him to overclock isnt a solution too.
i dont understand exactly what his problem is.
it can be the well known incoming call bug,but thats only a second and not 3 times ringing.
do you have extras/devel apps installed?
i really dont heard such a issue here(3 times ringing)
but if you really cant find a solution i would flash your phone to the newest firmware and the emmc too.
i had probs with the phone app too after upgrading to pr.1.2 but after a full fiasco/emmc flash everything was alright.
i dont know how good you are with flashing butn its quite easy.
you can give it a try>

That's exactly what my next advice was going to be, but based on your first post about me telling him to overclock- i dint write.
The only reason i asked him to do so was, i had the same issue.
it was so f**ing annoying, i would miss every freaking call. thats when i thought may be a performance boost will help, and i overclocked-- and guess what it worked.
I know, that was not the perfect advice to overclock. but we are here to help each other based on our experiences and it helped me solve my problem, so i thought i should share.

I've been having this same problem too, my phone will light up out of standby when a call in coming in, but the phone part doesn't show up till 5 seconds later, then ring once, then goes to voicemail. i've been missing a ton of calls because of this. Maybe its because I'm on AT&T? I turned off the dual mode to save battery life because I don't have a data plan on my phone, and the N900 doesn't support at&t's 3G bands, thus no need for 3G. But I'll try it nonetheless, and if that doesn't work I'll flash my phone. I'm just glad I'm not the only one having this problem
