They haven't got a fully functional OS on anything other than Maemo.

Why not help develop it yourself? Many of us here have helped develop Android to where it is now. I helped with Marketplace and a few other tid bits, plus testing and cracking away.

If you decide you want to help rather than just WANT something, come to http://forum.nitdroid.com/index.php

Edit:
Not even Meego is fully function - Nokia made that!
thats what I call creativity.. teach me a bit and will work with the telephony section and will make it functional in 2.2

i think you misunderstood what your statement was inferring. If you were talking about gingerbread specifically, then you may be right, but then again i'd like to see it proven before voicing an opinion. My issue is with your generalization that the n900 cannot run efficiently any OS released in Q4 of 2010. It all depends on the the basic hardware requirements of the OS, the date of release has nothing to do with it IMHO. For example the HTC HD2 is able to run android because it meets the basic hardware requirements. The release date of the OS or the handset had nothing to do with it,

C'mon atilla, rkpathai seems to be a very well informed and wise man...
He knows everything as you can see reading his posts' replies...
Excuse us rkpathai, we are ignorant people, not like you.
Thanks for opening our eyes about e-yes stupid work and efforts.
You must be elected for Maemo Council!
And now, let all those NITDroid enthusiasts and hard-workers blame me!
