That sounds too familiar. I have seen this journalist writing that the KIA motors would die in 2011(In number 10). And now, you can see that the KIA motors is alive and breathing. And also, the author writes it just after the partership between KIA and Microsoft.

Links to ANY of that so we can see? Until then, I can't say I'm familiar with any of that.

" The only question about the Finland-based company is whether a buyer would maintain the Microsoft relationship or change to the popular Android OS to power Nokia phones."

Actually, if Nokia had just entered the Android platform instead of Windows, and kept some of their massive R&D fundings, I think Nokia could have worked wonders to reshape Android even against Google's wishes. First thing would be to bring Qt, right?

I'm still troubled by the announcement that they'd not bring Qt to Windows Phone (even if it's already partially there). It's clearly to not ruffle feathers.

Nokia needs to ruffle feathers. Disrupt.

Instead doing what you do best, being obnoxious You might want to read the actual article, even the author says that he made a flop with his KIA prediction.

Ah, I did read some of it--mainly I skimmed the rest and I do remember it mentioning sometimes being wrong and mainly skipped ahead to read number 10, but what was written about Nokia seemed well said. No need for you to be impudent.

If that really happens, I hope that the buyer isn't Microsoft. Imo Intel would be a good choice. Or Google.

They would be good for Nokia but I'm not sure how good Nokia would be for them, though. As was written a few weeks ago regarding Nokia's worth, it might be worth more in pieces (patents, manufacturing business, etc.).

Are you aware of the amount of money Oracle is demanding from Google, for Dalvik and Java patent infringement?

I am, and I'm aware of the amount of money SCO demanded from IBM, Novell, etc. And Nokia from Apple, Apple from Nokia, etc.

Even if Oracle wins against Google, you think Google will close down Android? They'd just build a new sandbox on top of the kernel, to replace the one they have now. They could build conversion tools, anything. Or, if Google laid down and died, Nokia could. It's just a java-like virtual machine.

Late edit: I typed Opera - which is a win - where I ment Oracle - which is a dino.

From Nokia perspective, it would not be very wise to adopt Android. Oracle does not have a mobile platform at the moment, but has a mighty patent portfolio, horde of best lawyers the money can buy, and loads of cache.

Nokia's telecommunication portfolio would be a weak defence against Oracle (quite reverse from Apple case), so nothing will happen until the Oracle vs Google is decided.

BTW: they may be able to buy Nokia as well.
