for a MItM attacks the most important thing is to have a network card supporting promiscuous mode and most of the cards dont support it so cross fingers N9 has one supporting it

As far as rumours go, N950 is equipped with wl1271 chipset which means N9 will most likely be equipped with identical wireless chipset.
The driver for that chipset is fully open within linux, therefore one has access to rfmon/monitor mode (which only maybe a bit more than a handful of wireless chipsets of all the variations of wireless chipset supported under linux through various means has that support).
If it has that support then it should have a well developed managed support (and should inherently include promiscuous mode).

BUT the lack of still non existing repo for open source projects seems to be a problem atm.. But hopefully very soon to be solved
