Forward facing camera with shoddy quality is the only thing you'll be missing.
If I were you, I'd go for the new custom ROM for the Lumia 800 and avoid paying for a new phone when invariably the next models are right around the corner.

What does the "Root Tools" or "custom rom" in WP7 achieve?
What can you currently do with it?
