I suspect there would be no negative consequences locking at 1ghz, despite what many have said; the noop loops are very power efficient, and even at 1ghz, the chip isn't doing much. I left mine idling at 1ghz for 20 minutes and the temperature hung around 3C over ambient (vs ambient at 250mhz).

Even under moderate load that was averaging 500mhz, locking at 1ghz only increased CPU temp by 3C.

I would suspect that running intensive operations at 250mhz would heat the CPU more than idling at 1ghz..

Do not trust the temp! It is not exact.

1. Can you paste the output if you run the original script (use PM so that we don't spam the forum).

2. I've compared your modified script and I don't really see real differences. Only spaces converted into tabs and awk execution is set as variable which is echoed in the next line (unnecessary I believe).

3. If your used and when busy give same readings that indicates a certain bug in the script. Although I designed it with various kernels in mind there is a possibility of that.

4. When busy is derived very simply as can be seen from the code. It is portion (percentage) of all frequencies except the lowest (idle) one. It is used so it gives a more detailed reading of higher frequencies, because if the device uses the lowest frequency 98%+ of the time it is hard to compare the remaining 2% between itself.

I've been trying Titan's ideal kernel (500-850) and the battery drains alot faster then with Leho's 250-800 Mhz.
Are you guys noticing the same issue ?

i believe so. i base my temp on how quick the phone increase temp, physically.

@800-900mhz, almost the same as the stock when using the phone with atleast 3 apps open and 2 web windows. it is noticable that after 20mins of continous phone call, the temp increases, unlike on the stock in about 40-60mins.

and mostly when i check the temp of my phone via xterm or desktop exe wdget. it shows a -40 and a reboot fixes it, so not so sure how accurate that is.

the lehto's kernel your tried have lower voltages than titan's

lower voltage in idle "might" consume less power.

Which voltage is Lehto using for 250 Mhz ?
I'm using 0,975 now.

congratulations! you may be the first user who actually fried his device!

but maybe your battery is just empty. let it cool down and recharge it.
in case it boots up again, immediately set the totally insane min frequency
from 850 to 250.

nope, battery drain is nearly flat for me.
I called it "ideal" because it gives me the best tradeoff between battery life,
speed and safety.

There no longer is an hardcoded "ideal" kernel.
you can experiment with all kinds of settings, including lehto's ones.
