frankly i'm sure its not a hardware issue, but more of a software...nokia needs to rush into fixing such holes in the next firmware update and push it out ASAP to people...also for people who had it rebooting when wifi was connected, was there any form of encryption on the wi-fi. the encryption like WPA might set it off, i remember a few years ago WPA was a problem in linux, it could be nokias codebase is shoddy..

no pin is asked.

Well, I’m having like one reboot a day… and I think they’re not totally random because they usually happen in the browser (though in “light” WebPages and not heavy ones).

This sucks because it’s enough to get me worried but for now it’s not a sufficiently big problem to force me go to the nokia shop.

I just shipped back mine.. I'm getting a new one..
Some people that got their phone never got reboots so I'm pretty sure it's a hardware issue

You mean a lock code? You might have activated the lock code functionality in settings.

I have PIN on my SIM. so it asks for a PIN after at reboot. I also have a device 'Lock Code' which is asked before the PIN code.

My N900 used to reboot now and then. (About 20 to 30 times per day!) When I started to debug the problem I removed MSN plugin and ap news widget. I also set off the Wifi. Not sure it was right after. Those reboots reduced to about 1-2 per day? I have to test the wifi thing again to remove that possibility.

I just love the device! For me it's perfect!

Thanks for linking this.

Please see comment 184 before posting anything to that bug report, though.
talk.maemo.org is a forum, and Bugzilla is a technical bugtracker, and there's a difference - there's good reasons for both to exist. :-)

Received my N900 replacement yesterday from new egg. First phone was rebooting almost every 10 min. New one works great, been on for almost 17 hrs with heavy usage and no reboot in site. So i do believe it's an hardware issue.

Guys, i had a random reboots, what ever i do, sms, browsing, music listenig, tried even use without sim, but almost every 10 min one reboot. Yesterday i replace with another one, no problems, even listening music and web surfing. So i think its a hardware fault. Good luck change it for another one.
