I buckled and got a 3 yr square trade warranty for my phone purchased from Amazon.com. The web seller sells the Square trade warranty which includes accidental damage protection also, cost me $110. I have detailed documentation from Square trade customer service that this will be covered by them, pm me if you need more info.

I have once again escalated this to Nokia.

I doubt a single Nokia engineer has had any involvement so far with claim denials, though. It's usually people completely untrained in the relevant arts.

It's a fancy way to make people think someone of importance evaluated it. Thus making it less likely you would question them ("after all if an engineer looked at it, what would I know?")

Well, feel free to tell any CARE naysayers that a former Nokia quality engineer for the product family says it's a design fault. Period.

+1 to the connector broken.

Funny thing is that I've always been super careful with this. Two hands to connect and unplug, going straight in and out....

I'll bring mine to Nokia store NYC tomorrow and see if they can't just give me a replacement.

What do you guys think?

To qgil, I took your post seriously as someone that I've read on these boards and has some insight into these devices, as well as a personal interest in their success.

To everyone reading this thread. Please please don't read up to qgil's post and promise yourself that you'll be careful, as I did. Really read and understand what it will take to get yours fixed if this becomes a problem.

I'm going to use this thread to post what happens to me while I learn how to solve this problem!

Here are some pictures so you can all see.

Hmmm...I have to say that two or even six batteries do not cut down your charging times if you do not have external charger. Maybe you have invented something pretty phenomenal I presume that after using all batteries you have to still charge them with your phone.

Mine is a production device, and it seems that it wasn't fixed at all, or at least not properly!
