Nice job guys. I've tried a mouse, a 3G modem (worked in idle, didn't test further) and a USB gamepad which I confirmed working with mupen64!

EDIT: Also tried Arduino.

Hello,
I installed version 0.2.7 and apparently the mount script is still not working.

The usb key appears as sda and the "list" variable of the mount.sh script is empty.

The sda entry is the last one of the /proc/partitions file.

You can't mount devices that are not storage. For mouse(and probably for other hid devices) you just select the "low speed hostmode" -> VBUS -> "Enumerate" and that's it.

Sigh... read my post above.
Hint: 0.2-8

After installing this and kernel-power 2.6.28-maemo45 my n900 thought its loading battery from usbstick, when I enabled VBUS boost from hostmode-gui.

It stopped thinking thats its getting loaded after couple seconds after i closed hostmode-gui. Plugging out usbstick, disabling VBUS boost and really trying to load the battery didn't do anything.

Kernel messages

Versions are changing too fast. It was still 2.7 when I downloaded it.

Mount works the first time, but when unmounting, the directory is not or could not be removed from /media. So when the key is mounted once more, the script fails on directory creation.

My understanding is that two possibilities are to be considered:
- The name resolves to empty directory not matching any active mount point. It can be used to mount the device.
- The name is already used in a mount point. Either signal the issue or create a new moint point using a suffix.

Hope it helps (and that a version 0.2.9 is not already availble )

A very nice job anyway.

Since this project became very popular, I decided it's best to update an old USB-host page on wiki with new information.
http://wiki.maemo.org/N900_Hardware_USB_Host
Feel free to correct any mistakes(esp in the http://wiki.maemo.org/N900_Hardware_USB_Host#Warning: area)
