This also happens in SpeedCrunch. I think it is connected with the new Qt?

Wel if that is the case, then hopefully all the creator of FastSMS has to do is update his Qt used to create the app and it should fix the problem

Stupid version incompabilities...

If Fastsms is a Qt app, and Qt allows for easier creation of nice UIs, is there any chance Fastsmsevo will get a UI update at some point? I appreciate it isn't the main thing right now and that other things require precedence, but is it at least on the roadmap?

What is wrong with the UI?

A lot of people have said they don't like the UI of it and one of the most popular requests on this forum is a keyboard like Opera

Anyway, as you asked, my own issues with it are:
1) it changes with themes. This is problematic for me because i like dark themes, and using this in sunlight using a dark theme is almost impossible.
2) the letters and icons are too small, which exacerbates problem 1). Maybe if they were much bigger within the button they would be easier to see - like WP7's or Maemo's default keyboard, very flat looking vkb, solid black, but the letters themselves are chunky, not pencil-thin like fastsmsevo.
3) the erase button would look better as a back arrow rather than an actual eraser (IMO)
4) I understand it's not possible to make the fastsmsevo box smaller in portrait, that's fine, but there's a discrepancy with how much space there is and how much is taken up by keyboard. In other words, can the keys be made bigger? This would look more appealing and this would help problems 1) and 2)

That's all i really think would be helpful. I don't think a keyboard needs all the crackle and pop of a hover mode etc, just something that looks appealing and can be used outdoors under sunlight.

Now thats much better for the developer to have a look at

The key sizing issue should be easy to fix just a simple font adjustment.

The making it look like opera, well I am not sure but tbh I dont care much for the opera keyboard and I think the QWERTY layout is fine atm.

The theme thing well I am sure the developer could add a way for us to select the theme is uses
