But its the same with all the others..

I had a SE P990..It was just the same but worse..

Its always the same..Same **** diffrent names

With a free OS we at least have a chanse to change stuff for the better

Its just me thats perfect

I feel the same exact way, but I'm willing to give Nokia the chance to redeem itself with the N900. Though I'm not going to wait for Maemo 6 to fix it.

I got burnt by the dropping of VoIP from the N96. I felt bitter about it for many months. The only thing bringing me back was the fact that maemo appears far more open.

I think its up to the community..

Dont see Nokia as the saviour.

But i guess we all see it in diffrent ways

No, this is not true:
- iPhone 1 still gets upddates
- Android 2 runs on oldest Android phones
- HTC usually provides 1 OS update, HD2 will run WM 7

Guess, Nokia might become GM of mobiles.
At least management has right attitudes to get there.

Iphone ..Yes..And i think its one of few thing thats good with Iphone.

Android 2 ..Dont you have to root it first ?

WM..Yes some will run WM7..

But my point is that you cant trust them that you will get many updates at all..

I would like pay for updates to a new OS if its needed but in 1.5 year or so its time to buy a new phone so ..

Can we all wait for at least more than a day after the accouncement before deciding that Nokia will not be implementing Ovi maps for the N900?

It probably is high time that Nokia supports device software upgrades for the high end devices, but come on declaring that its going the way of GM kinda early dont you think?

No! We should all jump to immediate conclusions. Everyone that said that PR 1.1 was going to be six months after the 'mini' update were proved right....or maybe not. I'll check the blogosphere and post some answers here shortly.

Having to root android is annoying. But not reqired for the official updates.

I usually buy best smartphone each year or so. Had most of them by now. But NEVER got that disappointed after only some weeks (not 1,5 years!) by hearing I should buy the next-to-come mobile ......
(well ... HTC had some minor similar PR issues with their graphics accellerators, some of u might remind)
