I know... I know. I believe too much in dialog and everybody is capable of it.

Shame on me.

Hey Volt, yep, he deff said qt! but its not important, easy slip.

@lumiatroll: Why anyone would choose any flavour of Windows phone over Android or iPhone that have such tidy, solid and complete ecosystems I can't imagine.

If microsoft try and leverage their desktop/server dominance in the EU they will get slapped hard, just look at the comments on browser choice already.

There is a sea change in the air and microsft isn't it. They are on the trailing edge of the wave, they have, thankfully, missed the boat.

The N900 might not have been the best people phone out there but it is certainly the best IT persons phone bar none that has existed so far.

This is typed from my Galaxy Note running ICS and the "hackers keyboard", which nearly matches a hardware keyboard, on balance the Android experience is pretty solid so far.

Its a shame a great company like Nokia with such great innovations behind them will become the next sorry victim of the microsoft train wreck.

note to Ltroll: When you have nothing intelligent to add ... rant.

Agreed. You also need hardware to drive software.
They compliment each other, as SJobs would say.

Disagree.
In the industry, 4.5in seems to be dead-set in the middle of the "regular" sized category. 4.3in is "slightly small", 4.0 is small, and 3.5in is tiny.

In contrast, 4.7in seems to be "slightly large", 5.0 is large and 5.3 is Dayum!

Agreed.
However the difference in advantage of physical size, groove, and functionality differs greatly. Hence:

Size = iPhone > L920 > SGS3
Groove = L920 >> iPhone ~ SGS3
Function = SGS3 >>> iPhone >> L920
Overall = SGS3 > iPhone > L920.

Obviously "overall" score applies to the average person, and there is no "average" person, so it depends on their needs and wants.

I am not above deciphering posts wrongly.

Either way, Qt in itself was as ready as Java is. Components built for or on Qt to provide for cell phone usage may not have been.

yes QT core was ready but as you state cell phone devices usag not, that was also what I meant. There was alot of rework made after nokia bought QT. And also some stupid byrocrathy between the symbian and meego team. Remember meegotouch vs symbianui(orbit)

by that I dont say WP was a better solution, it was even worse cause now QT IS ready on embedded but WP is not.

Samsung Galaxy III:

1. Feels cheap, plasticky

2. that raised button at the bottom, WTF????

3. Colors, nowhere near as good as N900 or iOS 4s

4. Widgets all over the place disorganized

5. Lags, and it lags

6. Not as smooth as WP or iOS

7. Graphics are goofy and not pleasan to the eye.

And yet Samsung sell more smartphones than any other manufacturer on the planet and the Galaxy S3 is their fastest selling smartphone ever.

It's not 'smooth' and it 'Lags, and it lags' - isn't that what you said about the hugely successful Symbian phones NOKIA used to make? Isn't that why you said they were a 'dead horse'?

Latest figures show Android has 68% of the market, iOS 17% and your beloved WPx just 3.5%. The Galaxy S3 is a top end Android device, if you don't like them what would you make of the budget Androids?

Maybe 'smooth' is not the killer feature you think it is, maybe others prefer functional or powerful or adaptable.

Maybe NOKIA's new unwillingness to offer functionality and adaptability are amongst the reasons they are currently failing so dismally whilst Android continues to devour what would until recently have been their market.

If anything, I'm buying it and putting MIUI on it from the beginning. I don't like a lot of widgets and on my Nexus 7, I'm running the Chameleon launcher, which is on the very edge of what I consider organized. At least it follows a grid pattern.

And almost all Touchwiz based phones seem to lag. I remember when I still had my Captivate. I basically enjoyed it only after I applied the lagfix and went custom with the ROM.

The rest... thanks. It wasn't that hard to do, now was it? I knew you could!
