They did have "early access" to updates too for some time...

But true. Being "the first one" didn't have much more than fancy ringtone and a T-shirt. That's the reason I have doubts about "special editions" altogether in this case, but more like discount plus some Lastu accessory. Maybe with "we are sorry" engraved to them?

As much as your posts resonate with me in the last days, here we disagree.
Jolla will not be able to give any kind of specials that need pre invested money, right. Abreviate from that and you know what we will not get.
But they still have some value to offer in discount on possible future devices and possibly free access to payed services they might come up with.

Yeah, thats about what i come up with...
Anyone got more constructive speculation?

They at least acknowledge their heritage:
It shares a lot of technological and philosophical choices with smartphones projects such as SailfishOS, NemoMobile, WebOS-Ports, SHR or Ubuntu Touch but adapted to the needs of smartwatches. For now the project is still in early stages and is in need of contributors.

(though probably Mer would be more in place, still nice touch)

Hey,
I never left and if you think that this time everything went smooth and there are no problems. Especially when a lot of people here (including me) told about "no tablet" on first silence delays from Jolla(btw "soon" and silence is good sign of upcoming problems with them) then I would tell that you are pretty "optimistic" person
Or if it's always about if there is company named Jolla or not and not about them failing everytime, then you right again

Dave, just to remind you - apart from those who pre-ordered from the webshop - people's jolla (tablet perk) money is already a donation

So, Jolla alone are to blame for their failure to deliver the tablet in accordance with the schedule given at the time of the crowdfunding campaign.
