This is simple logic and says nothing about Mac security, market share or virus availability, which I don't care to go into detail on since that's a fight without logic and facts.

It's indeed an interesting topic. You have a small population, a "niche" platform. We should in fact expect less viruses to be developed and to actually infect these machine a priori. But someone might be interested in doing it, and not only develop the virus but have the trouble to cause the infection. One excellent example of this happening was the Stuxnet virus!!

Now this is this in-topic? Well, we are a niche, and Nokia's Linux tablets, not to say their campaigns like the leaked Jessie's Girl video are the viruses!... Do you think their efforts are in touch with our specificity? And how many of us are immune to other diseases like Android or iPhone?

MacOS is like a house in the middle of nowhere, you may leave it open all the the time and nothing happens as hardly anyone is there trying to get it.
Win (as the mainstream OS) is like a house in the Bronx, you may even try to protect it, but there are so many bad guys trying to get it, you will struggle to succeed...

Just check the results of hacking contests. MacOS is *most* of the times hacked first!
MacOS is by no means safer than other OS. The amount of manpower put into checking for security wholes is just a lot lower, thats all. Thus, I would even say, if someone *wants* to get in, MacOS is a lot more vulnerable as Win...
Just my two cents...

And is the OMAP3640 good enough for today's (or tomorows) requirements?

Mozilla planned to remove it for a while already:

But the actual removal was released with Firefox 4, so unless you are running Iceweasel >=4 from http://mozilla.debian.net/packages/ Gopher should still work.

I am just inspiring myself on what happened to N800, that was originally "underclocked".

I picked OMAP3640 because it's the latest OMAP3, and with the largest clock rating...

The question is not so much if it's good enough for today's requirements, but if it was good enough for 2010's requirements!

The idea is that the hardware we will get is something that was developed to mid/late 2010 (iPhone 4, Droid 2...), so no dual-core, but most certainly a 1GHz chip. I am being optimistic and picking up the 1.2 one, and creating the underclocked story to make the rumor sound legit.
